Before Michael and I became parents, we loved to travel and feared having kids would mean sacrificing it. Instead we soon realized we could enjoy traveling just as much with our two boys in tow. Relaxing? Not really. But I wouldn't want it any other way.
I am a native of Colorado and love living in the same city where I grew up, Longmont. After completing my master's of journalism at CU Boulder in 2002, I wrote primarily freelance magazine articles until becoming a mom in 2006, when I began honing my editing skills. I enjoy the flexibility of freelance work because it affords me time to use my writer's brain while also refereeing fights between my two young sons.
After more than 15 years in this business, I've taken on an array of writing jobs, from teaching college freshmen the fundamentals of good writing (as a journalism graduate student) to writing press releases and direct-marketing pieces. I've also edited everything from veterinary texts to business plans and most recently a dear friend's book, co-author Dave Runyon's "The Art of Neighboring." No matter the job, I love helping my clients craft clear, genuine and powerful communication.
